Yesterday morning, two LATAM Boeing aircraft collided with each other at São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport. A 777 crashed into a 767 when it was being towed at the Brazilian hub.
Due to global travel restrictions imposed and a lack of passenger demand due to the coronavirus, LATAM Brasil has grounded most of its fleet. The Boeing 777 was being towed to perform engine tests.
“During the towing procedure in the Guarulhos airport courtyard this Sunday morning (24th), two aircraft of the company B777 (PT-MUB) and B767 (PT-MSS) collided with the ground,” LATAM said.
No one was injured during the process.
With the fall in passenger demand and enhanced travel restrictions, many airlines such as LATAM have been grounding their aircraft and cancelling many of its flights and grounding their aircraft in many airports and airfields. A similar incident of aircraft colliding include Qatar Airways.
